Our Client is one of the leading automotive companies in North America, and they have an immediate requirement for a Bilingual HR Generalist
This position will offer a successful candidate the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and understanding in all major areas of Human Resources in a union and non-union retail environment. This position is an integral part of the Human Resources team, and requires a successful candidate to be motivated, enthusiastic and a team player.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide guidance and/or training to Managers and Regional Managers on attendance management, conflict resolution, discipline and discharge, legislation, company policies and collective agreement compliance and interpretation.
- Provide quality HR services on labor and employee relations issues using tact and diplomacy.
- Advise and assist management on the interpretation of HR practices, collective agreements and policies to ensure compliance with government legislation in several provinces as well as with company guidelines.
- Coordinate recruitment initiatives.
- Coordinate with H&S Coordinator on various leaves, Workers Compensation and early return to work initiatives.
- Attendance management.
- Administer benefit enrollment/termination for employees, respond to benefit inquiries.
- Submit documentation within timelines to payroll.
- Process new hires, terminations and change of status forms.
- Run various reports as needed.
- Assist with policy and procedure administration.
Qualifications
- Bilingual to a college/university level in French and English (written, oral and comprehension).
- Completion of relevant university/college program, working towards CHRP designation.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and prioritizing skills.
- Proven ability to manage change, conflicting priorities and complex employee relations issues.
- Capable of taking initiative on pressing matters and being accountable for those decisions.
- Above average computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, computers in general.
- Cooperator and contributor to a team environment but confident to work independently.
Highly Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a unionized environment.
- Experience in multi-provincial jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of ADP, Pay Specialist, HR Partner.
- Proven ability to use advanced functions of Excel.
